The Mexican Museum of San Francisco

The Mexican Museum wanted a website they could maintain in-house. They no longer had the support or the funds to pay for necessary upgrades and repairs to the custom content management system built more than twelve years prior. They wanted to start over with a standard open source platform that their staff could maintain.

They also felt the design of the site was outdated and no longer reflected the imagery from the extensive collection of objects and broader audience they now represented. They wanted something modern that incorporated their updated brand.

WHAT WE DID:

The Mexican Museum wanted to launch on Mexican Independence Day, and we met their timeline. Once the board of directors approved our plan, we had one month to publish the new website, a project that typically takes three or more months. We created a custom design with a content management system and published in record time.

We integrated an image management system to showcase their extensive collection of objects and streamlined the process of exporting object descriptions from their internal database to the website.

We trained the museum staff, allowing the museum to take back the reins and manage the site on their own.
